The first program for cultural enrichment was presented by Dr. Richard Simmonds featuring historic animals in space. Mr. Fred Horlacher will present a Three-part series starting in January on revisited Nevada history.

Sparks Heritage Museum has a rich collection of programs covering many facets of Truckee Meadows including the Southern Pacific Railroad, early schools, early businesses on "B" Street aka Victorian Avenue, venues from Carlton Watkins [an early Nevada photographer] and an excellent collection of Sparks Postal Cards from 1905. Recently "Animals in Space" and a program on Rocketdyne will the revitalization story of the old library are available.

The museum sponsors cultural performances from Nevada Cowboy Poets, Folksingers like Barbara Baxter, an African/American vocalist, Lenny Pulstilneck, a local guitarist, a local cartoonist in addition to chatquain performers and tours of the Glendale Schoolhouse. .
